Dear all,
Just a farewell note to let you know I am stepping back from the editor’s chair at AUSTRALIAN Tree Crop and handing over to a capable new team led by Sophie Baldwin and Andrew Mole.
Sophie also works on other titles belonging to our owners, McPherson Media Group (MMG) and with a farming background, Tree Crop couldn’t be in better hands moving forward.
Similarly, Andrew is also a former long-time journalist and editor with Shepparton-based McPherson Media Group regional mastheads.
Andrew Mole and Sophie Baldwin.
They each have long and established careers as award-winning agricultural writers, also having worked with publications such as The Weekly Times, Kondinin Group, Stock Journal, Stock & Land, Countryman, Small Farms, Dairy News and Country News. They have also worked with News Corp, AAP, Rural Press, Messenger Press, West Regional, Channel 9 and Elders Limited.
The editor’s email address will remain the same, so just keep sending your articles in as normal and it should land in the right hands!
I have really enjoyed editing Tree Crop and especially working with the many great contributors, from government researchers and private agronomists to the many key input suppliers to the sector who provide great practical information on growing tree crops and dealing with the challenges of nutrition, insect pests, weeds and disease.
It has also been great to learn about the development of new tree crop varieties from our nurseries and suppliers, and also celebrate the successes of marketing Australian produce both here and internationally.
Tree Crop is unique in covering the gambit of all types of tree crops, which means the information contained in it is widely disseminated and the lessons shared across many different sectors.
So, thank you to all have contributed stories these past 3½ years and I hope you have found it a great medium to get your message out and will continue to support the magazine and Sophie and Andrew as they settle into their roles.
Best regards,
David Petrikas
