Going nuts: Plans for $14 million almond processing plant

Jan. 15, 2019 | 5 Min read
PLANS for a $14 million almond processing plant near Hattah have been lodged with Mildura Rural City Council.

An application for the hulling and stone extraction facility, which would be developed over 90 hectares and has an annual capacity to produce 25,000 tonnes of almonds, was lodged in August and amended to include stone extraction in November.

A council spokesman said there had been two objections to the current proposal. However, the applicant has notified the council it plans to amend the application and, once submitted, it will be re-advertised consistent with the council’s planning process.
