In early 2021, jointly Nigel Love and Vanessa Roche near Pemberton township, one of the most beautiful regions of the South West Western Australia purchased the first GreenTech Spray System for their tallest avocado trees.
With their four children the farm covers about 360 hectares of which at least 150 hectares is taken up with two established avocado orchards. The remaining land is used for grazing beef cattle.
Mr Love and Ms Roche are second generation farmers who started their enterprise growing 30 hectares of potatoes on the original family farm at the time it was only 80 hectares. Then 20 years ago, the family embarked on to their first avocado planting.
The newest Greentech sprayer on its way to its new owners Nigel Love and Vanessa Roche.
Currently and over the years they have supplied their quality avocado fruit to major supermarket chains in Australia.
Nigel Love is passionate about their lush, green avocado orchards which are also quite beautiful, but also now in love with the GreenTech Spray System that protecting them. He says the GreenTech products are best suited for commercial scale agri-businesses.
His love for the GreenTech product has prompted him to order and purchase the second machine which will be delivered by GreenTech to their farm in May/June 2023.
Mr Love’s background with the GreenTech technology goes back some years ago when he borrowed one from one of the neighbouring farms and orchards that have purchased this brand over many years for use in this fertile part of Western Australia.
He says that the GreenTech product is the best on the market. “Once you are familiar with the GreenTech Spray Systems you will not change brand as it is strong, reliable and the spray coverage is second to none.”
Mr Love said the flexibility of fan positioning on the unit, as well as being able to isolate fans individually to target specific applications was just one of the system’s great assets.
“One of the extraordinary strengths of the GreenTech product is that it produces the right droplets for obtaining the best spray coverage with excellent cost savings and reliability,” he said. “In-cab adjustments can also be made to the fan spray heads’ positioning in precise fan angles for tree architecture, affording exceptional coverage.”
He said that the GreenTech machine is highly regarded in the orchard industry and both he and many others find the machine to be the best on the market. “We must spray the trees to achieve the best quality fruit in order to sell them at the best prices, so we have to have the best technology to achieve these results.
“If you cannot spray properly, you may as well not do it at all, as you will lose tractor time, diesel fuel, chemicals and labour with the end result being losing money as well.”
Mr Love said their farm has trees that are just planted and older trees which are very tall – about 7.5m to 8m in height and no other machine is able to spray such large and tall trees.
The family is constantly developing their spray program to achieve more accurate low volume high-quality spraying of their valuable avocado trees. He believes the real advantages of the GreenTech technology is its low power consumption industrial-grade electrical driven fan spray head technology.
Mr Love said one advantage of this technology is that you will never have oil leaking and potential crop contamination on a GreenTech machine.
He uses the GreenTech machine to apply fungicides, pesticides and foliar nutrition to tall avocado trees where he said it was essential to have outstanding high-volume air velocity.
Currently they apply between 150 L/ha to maximum of 300L/ha with the GreenTech sprayer. Both Mr Love and Ms Roche say in their view the GreenTech tree spray system has exceeded their expectations with the precise droplets and coverage and all required adjustments.
“We had a good working relationship with Benz Baek from GreeTech and pointed out what features of the machine we wanted to incorporate on our specific model,” Mr Love said.
“Benz was very willing to make the GreenTech machine to accommodate our needs with the fitting of a chemical transfer venturi, and also the ability to change and adjust the very top fan spray heads downward over the top of the tree canopy to push droplets down from the top parts of the canopy and further down into the centre of the tree to ensure outstanding coverage in all parts of the canopy.”
GreenTech developed and incorporated a manifold that accommodates 16 hollow cone nozzles for each fan spray head, that has enabled them to arrive with a low volume application rate per hectare.
Benz Baek, managing director of GreenTech International said the GreenTech brand offers a uniquely designed spray system with low-power consumption.
“GreenTech product is very different in design to competitors. GreenTech technology is renowned for its simplicity, and the reliable robust design of our sprayers meets high standards for Australian conditions.
“Today the technology has established itself as a spray system of choice in tank capacities from 2000L to 6000L and 7000L tank chassis is in development and can be supplied upon request,” he said.
“GreenTech has grown to be a significant business after starting out very small in South Australia. The company has now exported spray systems to New Zealand, USA and even South America.”
