The International Forum of Agricultural Robotics (FIRA) and the magazine Future Farming awarded the prize for the best robot concept 2020 to Tevel Aerobotics Technologies, during FIRA 2020 on December 10.
Tevel Aerobotics Technologies from Israel is developing flying autonomous robots used for picking various types of fruits, including apples, peaches, nectarines, pears, plums, citrus and avocado. The start-up is also working on thinning and pruning applications.
Engineers and passionate inventors around the world work hard to develop field robots that work to improve the lives of farmers, while reducing the use of crop protection products and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Thus, the Best Concept Field Robot 2020 is the selection of the most original robot, and one which has the potential to significantly contribute to increased and sustainable food production.
An independent jury made up of Future Farming, GOFAR, and Wageningen University selected three finalists among the 10 best robot projects. The public then voted online to elect the overall winner, Tevel Aerobotics Technologies.
